Perfect Album
I loved a every tune on this album....this is exceptional. This album is sweet like sugar and blessed up.
Must-Have CD!
Blessed with a fabulous voice and a stockpile of dynamic rhythms, Emrand Henry does not disappoint on No Retreat No Surrender. The 15-track CD is loaded with subtle, yet clear messages skillfully delivered on danceable rhythms. No Retreat No Surrender is reggae, it’s soca, it’s spiritually uplifting and socially conscious. With no weak tracks or fillers, No Retreat No Surrender is sure to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes. Emrand Henry’s long-awaited second CD is, in a word, terrific! Favorite Tracks • Included among the previously released hits on No Retreat No Surrender is Consume Me. Recorded on the Archangel Riddim, Consume Me is a song of complete surrender to the all-consuming love of God. At least 17 artists from across the Caribbean and the US have recorded on this rhythm. Of all the recordings, Emrand’s Consume Me has, without a doubt, the most powerful lyrics, and most compelling vocals of all. • Mind Made Up is a song about commitment, resolve, and no turning back. It’s upbeat, bouncy, and very danceable. The rhythm makes you want to do just that – get up and dance, dance, dance. • Crazy is Emrand Henry at his very best. This mid-tempo song, with a catchy chorus that stays with you long after the music has ended, simply is fantastic, wonderful, phenomenal. What can I say - I absolutely love this song! • Stand By Me is another of my favorites. The opening guitar chords immediately grab your attention, and the infectious drumbeat just won’t let you sit still. As for Emrand’s vocals, they are simply superb. With truly inspirational lyrics that you grow to appreciate more with each listen, Stand By Me is a real gem. • For the Children, the most socially conscious track on the CD, has all the elements of a timeless hit. It has outstanding instrumentation, superb vocal harmony, and a more than memorable chorus line that you not only hear, but you can feel. This song just makes you feel good. If this song had been around 10 years ago, you would’ve loved it then. And when you hear it 20 years from now, you’ll still love it. • Thank You is a reflective song of thanks and praises. The lyrics remind us to be thankful for those “everyday” blessings that we all too often take for granted. The production and arrangement are top-notch, and lyrically Thank You is the perfect segue into the final track, Great Day. • Great Day is a great way to end a truly remarkable CD. The lyrics of Great Day are exceptionally uplifting, Emrand’s vocal range is impressive, and the overall production is first-rate. I also especially like the guitar work on this one. Anytime you need a positive confession, just think of Great Day and let it soothe your soul. What a magnificent song! • Other outstanding tracks with messages and music you’re sure to fall in love with include I Know I Know and Jah Provide. Cons: The order of the tracks listed on the back cover is slightly different from the actual order of tracks on the CD. Other than that, there are no negatives. Miscellaneous Ramblings Just as Emrand says in his song Crazy, “without you in my life Lord, I would go crazy.” Well, without this CD in your music collection, you just might go crazy! Doctor’s orders: Get a copy(s) of No Retreat No Surrender, crank up the volume, and enjoy daily. Recommendation I highly recommend No Retreat No Surrender. A number of tracks carry profound messages cloaked in understated lyrics making the music accessible to a wide audience. Combined with high quality production, and outstanding vocals, No Retreat No Surrender is top-of-the-line all the way. So, why not be good to yourself and get a copy of this exceptional quality CD. Do it today. You won’t be disappointed.
WOOOOOW!

I Repent
I was quick to rush to judgment on this record and I definately owe the artist and Gospelreggae.com an apology for doing a disservice to both with my review. The more I listened to this record, the more convicted I became about my review. I listened again and I started to appreciate how childlike the faith is of this record, how this was a testimony of the beauty that is the relationship between a son and his Father. Also more distinct testimony of Jesus just began to come out of the woodwork with things like "Holy Ghost Fire" for example. If this were truly a 'Christian-lite' record, there would be no concept of that in it. I'm sorry Emrand, I should have waited with my word till I observed your record more closely. Your record has an amazing sound and you are an increadible talent. Most of all your heart is pure. Accept my apology everyone, this is a good record and artist who is only going to be one of the most accomplished Gospel Reggae music makers of the 21st century after God has had His way. May He bless you and keep you.

Oh snap....i didnt see that I had to click the star....sorry bout that, here's my star rating!
Max reggae, Minimum Gospel
Let me begin by saying this album sounds great. Emrand is a gifted singer and the production on this thing is second to none. But that's really where my appreciation for the record ends. This isn't to say there aren't some nice tracks, "No retreat, No surrender" and "Consume me" are blazin', but I'm looking for edification in what is purportedly "Gospel Reggae". If this is intended to be a good clean record, it is. In addition to the two songs I mentioned, "Oh what a feeling" and "I know, I know" are a couple of fun tracks you could put on at your laid back church function. As far as the Gospel is concerned, this record falls way, way short. Evidence of this can be found in the total absence of the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus is not mentioned on this album a single time (believe me I listened to the whole thing very carefully for it). The word Lord is used on about 1/2 the album, but without the character and the name of Jesus being witnessed on this album it's use is rather empty. Central themes of the Gospel such as atonement, repentance, holiness and even sin are completely absent from this recording. Prayer is mentioned once in Mama. A few notable words that are completely absent from this recording are cross and faith', you get the point. This is actually a culture record with Christian-lite themes. These include Gods love, God is always with me, Gods changing me but not a whole lot more. The Word of God can not be found in the lyrics of this recording in any perceivable measure. I encourage the artist in his continued walk with the Lord and pray for boldness to declare the name of Jesus for the edification of the body. The recording really succeeds in every other way.

I gotta say this is a top CD...I remember when Emrand was making it and he'd send me chops and tracks online to listen...I gotta say it really is about a rship btwn a son and Father! I always VET and CHECK OUT my artists before i buy or even promote them...so thank GR for the opportunity to read testimonies..some are shallow and some are inspiring hence the result of a purchased CD or download. I gotta say though good job Emrand for a first album, looking forward to bigger better and richer ones to come...keep on writing...and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ always! Juanita Cameron
